on a construction site (shine-a-light)

Today’s art project was prompted by M while doing our ‘Flower Letter’ project earlier this week. During that activity I heard: “Mommy, lets make a HUGE DUMP TRUCK next!!!” So I had him collect whatever small nature things we could find (rocks, leaves, flowers) to use in our next Nature Art project!

I paired his suggestion with a book he loves called ‘On a Construction Site’. This is a Shine-A-Light book (link found below). We then made a dump truck using the letter and a triangle using things we found while outside after reading the book!

Kids love picking up rocks, leaves, flowers, and especially dirt; all the things they can find outside. This process of seeking, grabbing, and feeling is great for their senses.
